Time Trials and Team Picnic

Can you believe it has almost been a full weeks of practice!  Well it has, and we are ready to see just how fast our amazing squids are.  On Saturday, June 17 we will have our first event of the season - Time Trials.  In order for this to run smoothly, we need parent volunteers. Remember, families are required to volunteer for a minimum of 9 points this swim season so start earning your points!  If you are unsure of what the jobs consist of, please check out the website, http://www.fortmyersquids.com/volunteer,to see what you are best suited for.

To sign-up for a job at Time Trials please use this link: https://vmodcui.active.com/volunteer/jobs?eventGroupId=743004

After time trials, around 11:30 we will also take our team picture and have our first social event, the Squids Picnic! The pictures will be taken at the 25 Meter pool so please stick around.  Afterwards we will walk to the area in front of the tennis courts for the Squids annual picnic. This is a great time to meet new swim families and catch up with old ones.  Swimmers will also get to meet their big and little Squids which is an exciting moment!  Please follow this link to volunteer to bring a dish or lend a hand. Remember our team is about 175 swimmers and their families so it is a large group to feed. Hamburgers and/or Hot Dogs will be provided, but all families are asked to bring a side.  Try that new recipe you have been wanting to try, or stick with the good old safe side you know everyone loves! The more the merrier!  Please also be sure if you are bringing a dish, that it is either in a disposable container, you put your name on it so it can be returned, or you grab it before you leave.

Please use this link to signup for the picnic to bring a side, to set up, or to clean up: https://vmodcui.active.com/volunteer/jobs?eventGroupId=752602

Please remember to login with the email address that was used to register your swimmer!

As always, thanks in advance for your help!  If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email or ask any of the board members.

It takes an Army of Squids to make a team strong!
