FMST Parents,

Below is information regarding Time Trials this Saturday:

Time Trials is run like a regular meet - it provides both an introduction to meet format (for new swimmers), and "seed times" for all swimmers. Seed times are essential for formulating the squad for our first competition meet, and to ensure swimmers train at the appropriate level. All swimmers are expected to attend Time Trials.

Scheduke
0700 h - parents and swimmers arrive at pool
0715 h - warm-ups commence
0800 h - Time Trials begin
1200 h - Time Trials finish - Squid Picnic begins
1400 h - Squid Picnic ends

Events
Swimmers will swim all events for which they are legal. Most older swimmers will swim four events - younger swimmers will swim two or three events (Coaches will advise whether children are legal if they are unsure). The stroke order is Free, Back, Breast, Fly - youngest swimmers to oldest in each stroke. IMs will not be swum unless time permits.

Admin
Catering: The Spindrift Café will be open from 0700 hrs and will serve a range of coffee and breakfast items.

Dress: Swimmers are to dress as if they were competing at a regular A-Meet or B-Meet. They should swim in their FMST swimmers and cap, and wear team colors or apparel when not swimming.

Cheering: Just like a regular meet, when not competing, swimmers are encouraged to remain near the pool, watch the racing and cheer on their fellow Squids.

Spirit wear: There will be some team apparel on sale during Time Trials. Please bring cash or a check book for this.

Team Photo: The team photo will be taken during the morning in the pool area. Children will wear their swimmers for the photo.

Bigs/Littles: Big Brothers Sisters will be introduced to their "littles" during the picnic.

Volunteers: There are still some vacant volunteer jobs for both the Time Trials and the Picnic - please consider volunteering where possible https://vmodcui.active.com/volunteer/jobs?eventGroupId=446201  Volunteers should "check in" with the FMST VP, Mrs Dawn England upon arrival.

One final thing - I need all parents/carers to sign up for Rained Out, our text message notification system. During the season, late-notice training cancellations and changes will be sent via text. To sign up, simply text SQUIDS to 84483.

See you at the pool!

Regards,
Coach
