Week of 6/15 for FMST

Squid Parents, thanks for all your help during TT and the team picnic. It was nice to meet with many of you. Now you may have a sense of what it takes to run a meet and our social activities.

Moving forward. Every week you will receive an update from Coach K regarding the upcoming meets (times, location etc). This weekend is our first A meet (away, against Ashburn Village). There is no B meet this Wednesday as previously scheduled. Coach will let you know if your child will be participating in the A meet. If you have a young new swimmer, don't plan on it, unless you hear otherwise.

Also we are working on re-scheduling the A meet currently listed for 4 July. It will likely happen during the week following. Stand by for more details.

All decision about who swims what event in which meet, are the coaches decisions based on their observations at practice, your child's stroke "legality", and their times. Please, please do not engage any of the coaches during meets about which event(s) your child has been selected for. These decision are made ahead of time, and not taken lightly, and are not subject to discussion during the meet. Coach is happy to discuss her decisions with you before and after the meet. If you have concerns during a meet, you can come find me or another board member.

NEW PARENTS. There will be (2) new parent information sessions this Wednesday at the snack bar. All of your remaining questions will be answered at this time. 1st session 16:30-17:00, 2nd session 17:30-18:00.

I will be sending links every Monday for the upcoming A meets to sign up for Volunteer opportunities. Same hold true for B meets, but those will come out on Fridays.

Lastly, we are finalizing our method to collect pool pass numbers. This is a team requirement, so make sure you have your pool pass numbers when called upon to provide them. DO NOT SEND THEM TO ME VIA EMAIL, THEY WILL GET DELETED.

Respectfully,
Chris Spranger, FMST VP
