Squids!

Happy first week of morning practice! If you weren’t at the meet on Saturday – just a quick recap. The meet was SUPER close! We were winning or losing by 10 points or less back and forth throughout the meet. As usual, it came down to relays, and the Aqua Jets were able to inch ahead of us in the end. It was a great meet overall, with an exciting finish!

Also, we had FIVE records broken! Congrats to Caroline Ousely-Naseman for breaking her 50 back record (again!), to Claire Mowery for breaking THREE 9&10 records in the 50 free (her own), the 50 back (also hers previously) and the 100IM (a newly broken one, originally from 1990!), and to Cyrus Beauvais for breaking the 8&U 25 breast record held since 1995! CONGRATS SQUIDS!

Info for our meet tomorrow:

WEDNESDAY B MEET INFORMATION – June 25 AT Ft. Myer
Tomorrow we swim Chinquapin at home. Our warm up will begin at 5pm, please plan to arrive by 430pm.
The meet will start at 6pm.

Few general meet reminds: we may not do IMs at B meets as that is dependent on time, but sign up if you are interested. On that note, all 8 and Under swimmers must have permission to do the IM, Fly, and Breast events.
The first meet will be regular meet order – Free, Back, Breast, Fly, IM.

Each swimmer will be allowed to swim three events plus IM (if we are able to get them in with timing) for the Wednesday meet. We are using a new system to register for events for B meets. Please ensure you have your squid signed up no later than 12pm TODAY. https://swimportal.active.com/ (remember to login with the email address that you used to register your swimmers)

Our theme for the meet tomorrow is PAJAMAS! Come dressed in your night time attire!

SATURDAY A MEET – June 27 AT Ft. Myer
Our meet this Saturday is home against Cascades. Our warmups will begin promptly at 7am. Please ensure you are on time (arriving by 645am). The theme is ROYALTY! Lineup/more info to follow later this week.

Let me know if you have any questions.

See you all tomorrow morning! (Reminder: 8&U do not have practice tomorrow)

Best,
Coach Kristina
