Calling all Officials... current or prospective!

Dear Fellow Squid Parents,

I'm writing to ask for your help. FMST is desperately short staffed with respect to on-deck officials. Currently, we're barely able to fulfill out obligations at meets. This means the officials we have, are compelled to work each meet without a break. So my request is to please consider becoming a Stroke & Turn, Starter, or Referee certified official next season.

We currently have only one certified Starter and one certified referee. We do, thankfully, have one of each in in training, but we really would be best suited if we had three people certified in these positions and an even larger number of stroke and turns.

If you already are certified in these positions, please contact me and let me know what your availability is with respect to our last remaining Sat meets, our B meet tomorrow, Divisionals and All-Stars. You don't need to have worked this season to start now!

If you are not already certified, please consider it during the off season. If your kids swim in other programs (AAC, High School, etc) they can always use more help too. Feel free to ask questions of any of us before, after, or during breaks at our future meets if you aren't sure of the requirements.

A big thanks to those working in the host of other volunteer capacities as well. Your contributions are just as important and appreciated.
Remember, if you become certified as an official, you don't have to officiate every meet. The more people certified, the less we'll have to rely on the same few each and every meet. Plus, it's one of the best seats in the house!

Thanks for your consideration.

Kind regards,
Bill Mowery
